Numbers

  1. Activity 1: Number Hunt

    For this activity, you will need the following material: Flashcards with numbers 1-10

    Instructions:

    • Hide the flashcards around the room or outdoor area.
    • Ask your child to find the flashcards and bring them back to you.
    • As they find each card, encourage them to say the number out loud.
    • Once all the cards are found, go through them together and ask your child to identify the numbers on each card.

  3. Activity 2: Number Memory Game

    For this activity, you will need the following material: Index cards or small pieces of paper

    Instructions:

    • Write the numbers 1-10 on separate index cards or pieces of paper.
    • Mix them up and place them face down on a table.
    • Take turns flipping over two cards at a time, trying to find a matching pair of numbers.
    • Encourage your child to say the number out loud when they flip it over.
    • If they find a match, they get to keep the cards.
    • Continue until all the matches have been found.

  5. Activity 3: Number Tower

    For this activity, you will need the following material: Building blocks or cups

    Instructions:

    • Write the numbers 1-10 on separate building blocks or cups.
    • Help your child build a tower by stacking the blocks or cups in numerical order.
    • As you build the tower, say the numbers out loud and encourage your child to repeat them.
    • Once the tower is complete, ask your child to point to each number and say it again.

  6. Activity 4: Number Hopscotch

    For this activity, you will need the following material: Chalk or tape

    Instructions:

    • Create a hopscotch grid on the ground using chalk or tape.
    • Instead of using traditional numbers, write random numbers 1-10 in each box.
    • Have your child hop through the grid, saying the number out loud as they land on it.
    • Encourage them to repeat the numbers in order as they progress through the grid.

  7. Activity 5: Number Puzzles
